Is the Adventure Sports Center International whitewater course open this summer?
No. Wisp Resort said in its Summer Operations Update, dated Wednesday, March 18, 2026, that it will not operate the mountaintop whitewater course for summer 2026. Wisp had run the course for the past ten years, following the 2014 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships.
Wisp directed questions about the whitewater course to Garrett County, which owns the asset. The same update announced that Wisp was awarded a new five-year agreement to operate the Deep Creek Lake State Park boating concession, which covers kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, pontoon boat tours and the beach concession. That agreement does not cover the whitewater course.
